Reducing Weight Should Not Equal Starvation

We’ve all tried it, even if we don’t want to admit it. We have all starved ourselves, even if just a little bit, in an attempt to reduce weight. The fact is that our bodies need fuel to function and complete even the simplest tasks and if you aren’t eating you aren’t going to be able to function. When you don’t eat, you communicate to your body that it needs to slow down its metabolism. When you are trying to reduce weight, you need to do everything you can to boost your metabolism. When you on a starvation diet you are working against that plan!
Portion control is crucial but you must trust nature and eat when you are hungry. One way of doing that is eating a small but balanced meal every 3 to 4 hours. Waiting until you are starving can only be counter effective, which leads to more fat storage. A formula that I teach and included in the Home Cures That Work Weight Loss Issue can actually help you get the right amount of nutrients at any given time and does not require
g>calorie counting, nor does it requires measuring your food.
Use:
- The palm of your hand to determine your protein intake for each meal.
- One fist to determine your carbohydrates.
- One fist to determine your vegetables.
- The nail of your thumb to determine your fat intake for each meal.
Example: a cooked chicken breast that equals the fist of your hand (not anyone else's), an amount of cooked brown rice that equals your fist, an amount of cauliflower that equals your fist and some butter or olive oil that equals the nail of your thumb. Et voila! That's your meal!
Reducing weight is all about getting right in your mind before you even think about how you will eat or what activities you will do. The first thing you need to do is decide that you want to reduce weight. When you have decided this in your mind and you are committed to weight reducing, you can then move forward and consider how you will eat, portion control and what sort of activities you will do to try to burn more calories that will ultimately result in weight loss.
Simply taking food out of the equation is not the answer for weight loss that can be maintained long term. Once the commitment is made mentally and emotionally, then an activity such as strength training combined with cardiovascular exercise and a balanced nutritional plan should be enough to help you reduce weight, feel better and function at optimum level. Make the decision and you’ll be half way there.
