Skin Brushing Cellulite Away
What if I told you that you could eliminate cellulite in just 5 minutes a day? It sounds too good to be true, I know. But I have a simple 5 minute solution for those bumps and dimples!
The Root of Cellulite
Diet and exercise alone may not get rid of cellulite. Contrary to popular belief, cellulite isn’t the same as body fat. Even those who are quite thin and have a low body fat percentage can struggle with the dreaded “cottage cheese.” Cellulite is actually a result of a congested lymphatic system.
Although the lymphatic system (or lymph system) is terribly overlooked, it is an integral part of our body. Nicknamed the “garbage disposal for the cells,” it does just that! The lymphatic system’s job is to take our body’s trash like viruses, bacteria, food particles and cellular waste and direct it out of the body.
Unfortunately, the lymph system isn’t equipped with its own pump, like the heart, so its circulation depends much on our movement and muscle contractions. This is why exercise is important to keep the lymph system moving and working.
Daily life exposes us to toxic chemicals on a consistent basis.
- The food we eat contains chemical additives.
- The water we drink contains chlorine and fluoride.
- The air we breathe contains molds and airborne pollutants.
The lymph system can easily be bombarded with this large onslaught of toxins that need to be circulated out of our system on a regular basis.
Many times the lymphatic system cannot move fast enough. This creates an accumulation of lymph under the skin in areas of poor circulation. Typically, we sit a lot during the day creating an area of poor circulation around our buttocks and thighs. This is why the legs, thighs and buttocks are the most common spot for cellulite.
Once the toxin filled lymph is trapped under the skin, the surrounding fat cells get irritated, clump together and swell up. Swollen fat cells combined with trapped lymph cause the look of bumps and dimples under the skin.
Brush Away The Dimples
Although diet and exercise play an important part in the reduction of cellulite, the key to getting rid of those dimples is to stimulate the lymph system. One of the best ways to get your lymph system circulating again and relieve congestion is dry brushing. It is a very cialis fast, easy and inexpensive way to banish cellulite!
Dry brushing involves brushing your skin in order to promote circulation and stimulate the lymph system. I began dry brushing around 2 years ago and it has become a very important part of my health regime. It has both improved the appearance of and reduced the amount of cellulite on my body.
Dry brushing has several other benefits as well:
- Encourages cell renewal with it’s amazing exfoliation ability.
- Allows your skin (your largest eliminatory organ) to detox by unclogging pores.
- Tightens skin due to the increase of blood flow to the area.
- Stimulates the skin to produce the oil it needs to stay healthy and young looking.
- Helps your skin absorb nutrients.
- Stimulates
the nervous system via the nerve endings on the skin.
- Improves immunity by moving the toxins more quickly through our system and out of the body.
Brushing Your Skin
The key to skin brushing is using the right brush. Make sure you purchase a brush made with natural bristles designed to use on dry skin, not wet. Also, make sure the handle is long enough to get to those hard to reach places on your back. Most brushes are made with natural fibers and have wooden handles. Here is one brush that I recommend for reducing cellulite:

Brush at least once daily before you bath or shower, not after. This way you can wash those old skin cells right down the drain. You should begin seeing a reduction of cellulite within a month of dry brushing. Combine dry brushing with cardiovascular exercise and you can see cellulite disappear after a couple of weeks!
Always brush towards your heart. This is the direction your lymph system flows. Brushing away from your heart would be counterproductive.
- Start by brushing your feet and legs and continue upwards on the body.
- Apply more pressure on less sensitive areas like the soles of your feet and less pressure on sensitive areas like the breasts.
- Once your torso is brushed, start with the tips of your fingers and brush up your arms towards your heart.
- Don’t forget to brush your chest and upper back in a downwards motion towards your heart.
- You can spend more time on areas of lymph congestion like your buttocks or upper thighs.
- Spend a total of 5-10 minutes brushing. Take your time!
- Hop in the shower.
- Apply a natural moisturizer like coconut oil once you’ve towel dried your skin.
Getting rid of that pesky cellulite and improving the integrity and appearance of your skin can be achieved by simply brushing your skin. Your skin is your largest organ and its detoxification is very important to whole body health. Adopting a clean, nutritious diet and increasing your water intake can also improve your results. Stop fussing and start brushing! The dreaded swimsuit season is right around the corner! It’s time to wear it proudly!
Cellulite Be Gone!
Get that lymphatic system back into shape with dry brushing and your body will be able to flush out those nasty toxins from your thighs and buttocks! Once blood flow is restored to the affected areas, damaged tissue can be rebuilt and you’ll be well on your way to getting rid of cellulite once and for all!
Remember, a smooth running lymph system equals smooth cellulite free body!
