You can’t gain fat that fast, it takes time. That’s why it’s good to change your eating habits naturally.

Why not face it? We all do it, anyway.

Dieting should rarely be a strain or struggle. I know there are always exceptions to the rules, or what I like to call common eating sense.

Sometimes, people want to lose drastic pounds fast, maybe to get a role in a movie, qualify for an athletic event or for immediate health reasons. But, for the majority of the time, you should be having fun and enjoying the art of eating.

If you’re not enjoying yourself, you’re doing it wrong.

Here are some basic diet tips that will help you over the holiday season. Everyone is different, so take these with a grain of salt; sea salt that is!

Try to drink a tall glass of water 3 to 5 times a day. Here’s the trick: Prepare your water first. Shoot for a temperature of about 39.7 degrees Fahrenheit, or about 4 degrees Celsius. Other people like it a little warmer, whatever works best for you.

Alkalize your purified water with a pinch of raw sea salt or coral minerals. This gives you the added benefit of ocean minerals, which acts as a natural anti-oxidant to help detoxify your body.

Prepare at least 2 liters and only drink water about an hour before meals. Start your day and end it with a glass of naturally alkaline “structured” water. This helps flush out the kidneys and other organs.

Same goes for fruit. Only eat fruit an hour or so in between meals.

You want to raise your metabolism and eating large meals is counter-productive.

Eat 5 or even 7 small meals a day. The more meals the more you drink in between.

Is it starting to make common eating sense now?

Also, eat your protein before your carbs.

Watch for hidden sugars and trans-fats, which trigger inflammation and fat storage.

Finally, always chew meats extra long, making sure to eat slowly, take a breather and then eat the salad last. Savor the flavor and the time!

P.S. Last tip: eat more fat. That’s right, but eat the healthy good fats found in avocado, coconut, walnut, pecan and almonds. Good fats raise your metabolism and are used as fuel. They teach your body to BURN fat.
