Natural remedies don’t always work as expected. Just ask this guy:

Blue colloidal silver man

Paul Karason, age 57, developed a case of dermatitis when he was 43. He decided to try a natural remedy using colloidal silver… but the treatment, which is not considered safe or effective by the FDA, turned his skin blue, and he’s been living with it that way for over ten years.

Colloidal silver is… made by extracting silver from metal. Manufacturers sometimes describe the liquid as a cure-all, and Karason both drank the silver and rubbed it on his skin.

Oops.

Because the changed happened so gradually, Karason said he didn’t realize it was happening. That is, until an old friend of his saw him and asked what he’d done.

It appears Karason may have suffered from argyria, an irreversible blue-gray discoloration of the skin, nails and gums that’s linked to colloidal silver. Other possible side effects of the liquid include:

  • Seizures and other neurological problems
  • Kidney damage
  • Indigestion
  • Headaches and fatigue
  • Skin irritation

Karason has yet to seek medical attention for his blue skin, and apparently he’s still drinking smaller amounts of colloidal silver.

Maybe he wants to win a Papa Smurf lookalike contest?

The moral of the story? Well, there’s nothing necessarily wrong with colloidal silver. In fact, more and more hospitals are now using silver-coated catheters help reduce Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) by up to 47%!

Colloidal silver is also a good internal antibiotic.

But Paul’s case is a healthy reminder that too much of a good thing can turn into a bad thing… and it might make you feel (or look) blue.

If you’re considering using colloidal silver, we suggest you do so under the care of a knowledgeable natural health physician.

As for dermatitis, there are other natural remedies you can try:

  • Sunlight – but again, too much sunlight can cause severe burns, so, again, use caution and common sense.
  • Sleep – many health problems are caused by a weakened immune system, and, without enough sleep, your body becomes more susceptible to all kinds of problems. Be sure to get a good night’s rest every night – and take a short nap during the day for an added boost. If you have trouble sleeping, try this.
  • Eat healthy, exercise & drink plenty of water

Have a great, healthy week!
